Just what is PowerSchool?
PowerSchool is Alpine School District's new grading program where it allows both parents and students to look up, but not change grades and attendance on the internet.
Why would I want to use Powerschool?
With Powerschool you can see a conclusive report of all of your student's grade to date. If the your student's teacher entered grades at 9:00am today then you will be able to see what score your child received on that assignment at 9:00am that same day! Attendance is the exactly the same. You can also request an e-mail reminder of your student's grade and attendance. Just follow the directions after you enter your username and password on Highland Elementary's Powerschool log-in page to request a daily, weekly, or monthly E-mail.
Can anyone else look at my child's grades and attendance on the internet?
No one else may look at your child's grades or attendance on the internet without the unique username and password which your child has been given. Please keep it confidential. If for some reason there is a need to change your password or user name please click on the link below or the link on the Home Page saying Did you forget your Powerschool username or password? This will allow you to E-mail the Webmaster/Technology Aide who will assign you a new username and password or will send your information that you have forgotten with your child within the next 2 school days.
Will teacher's still send out a written progress reports to let me know about my child's progress.
Due to the fact that all the information is now available to parents via the internet written reports are not encouraged, but it is up to the individual teacher whether or not they send out a written progress report. If you are not sure if your child's teacher will send out a written progress report please got to the Faculty page and choose your child's teacher and E-mail him/her.
